Future Electronic Commerce (futureec)

In 1999, R Martin Ladner began testing tips at Future Electronic Commerce (http:// www.futureec.com ) and sending them to Nathan Stanford's e-zine and Web site CFTips Plus (now at http://nathanstanford.name/cftips) for publication.

Why call the site "Future Electronic Commerce?" Because ColdFusion revolutionized the building of Web sites that did more than just look nice. It facilitated effective communication.

That effort was the genesis of this one.

Domain Name

The domain name for Central Alabama ColdFusion User Group was reserved in August 2004. However, at the time, there was a larger hurdle to starting a User Group than there is today, futureec.com's Web host was going out of business, demands at work increased, and dealing with a severe illness in the family took center stage for a time. The load finally lightened about the same time that requirements to start a User Group eased somewhat, and the first meeting of CACFUG became a reality (at long last).
